My name is Chris Steinbach and I’ve been fishing Vancouver Island for over 40 years.
Starting in Victoria as a kid, fishing for anything in the ocean was what I liked!
That turned into commercial fishing in my teens, then into the emerging charter business working in resorts up and down the coast.
For the last 15 years I’ve run a successful fishing charter business operation out of Campbell River and Comox Valley which I sold a few years ago.
Turns out I really missed being on the water and meeting new folks!
I’ve equipped myself with a new boat and had a great season in 2023 with new and
old guests from all over!
I’m still mostly servicing Comox and Campbell River but also offer multi day trips with accommodations on the west coast of the Island. Drive in Salmon and Halibut fishing (no flights!!!) out of Tahsis BC is the best west coast experience on the island!
Some feedback I’ve had, people really miss my local fishing reports and honest tips and
tricks on tackle and techniques .
So with the new business and website, I’ll be working on fishing reports in season but also honest tackle reviews and getting into making short videos on how to’s .
With our local Chinook fishing season being cut shorter by DFO (department of fisheries) and the price of tackle and fuel being sky high, hopefully I can share some of my knowledge and save folks some time and $! But more importantly put more fish in the boat!
